A man was taken to hospital with a “serious injury” following a crash in Bamber Bridge.

Tramway Lane was closed at the junction with Kellet Lane and Four Oaks Road at around 2.25pm on Tuesday.

A driver was taken to hospital with a “serious injury” following a two-vehicle crash, police confirmed.

Officers warned the road would be “closed for some time” while they assessed the situation.

A spokesman for the force added: “Thank you for your patience and stay safe if you’re out and about today.”

Traffic was coping well in the area.
