A man has been jailed after stealing a cash register from a sandwich shop in Accrington.
Officers were called after a burglar broke into a sandwich shop on Stanley Street by smashing a window on January 10.
A cash register was taken during the incident.
Jack Dwyer, of Devonshire Drive, Clayton-le-Moors, was later arrested and charged with burglary.
Dwyer appeared at Preston Magistrates’ Court on January 11 where he pleaded guilty to the charge.
He was sentenced to four months in prison.
Local Neighbourhood Sergeant Andy Thorpe said: “We are glad to be able to remove this burglar off the streets of Accrington.
“We know how much being burgled can impact businesses, owners and their staff, and we will continue to take robust action in tackling these issues.”
