Man dies at Fylde level crossing
A man has died on the tracks at Moss Side station level crossing.
The station serves trains between Kirkham and Lytham on the Blackpool South line and intersects with Lytham Road between Lythamand Wrea Green.
A spokesman for British Transport Police, said: "Officers were called to Moss Side station at 1.38pm today following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
A spokesman for train operator Northern said: “Due to an incident involving the emergency services, the line between Blackpool South and Kirkham and Wesham was closed from 1.40pm until 3pm.
“Rail replacement buses were in operation while the line was closed and the first train to run following the incident was the 3.35pm Preston to Blackpool South service.”
