Lancashire cat Felipe who needs a new home after being abandoned by his owner is beginning to lose his spark
Felipe is beginning to lose his spark as he has waited so long.
An adorable black and white cat from Lancashire has been looking for a new home for over 240 days after being abandoned by his previous owner.
Four-year-old Felipe was abandoned by his previous owner and has spent eight months hoping to catch the eye of a new family at the RSPCA’s Longview Animal Centre in Stalmine.

Staff at the rescue and rehoming centre in Old Toms Lane say he has really come out of his shell but is beginning to ‘lose his spark’ as he continues to watch other cats get adopted before him.
On average, it takes black and black and white cats 29 days to find a home in comparison to nine days for grey tabbies. There are also more of these moggies in RSPCA’s care than any other coat colour.
Hannah Mainds, from the centre, said: “Felipe is a charming, friendly and super affectionate boy who has become a firm favourite with our cattery team, but watching many cats come and go is taking its toll on this special soul.
“Although he was timid at first and understandably needed some time to find his paws, he’s grown into a real character.
“He’s often waiting at the front of his pen or will run over from his favourite orange chair to say hello.
“He’ll greet us with a little meow before happily showing his affectionate side, climbing onto our laps for a bit of fuss.”

Felipe is longing for a home where he can explore the outdoors and enjoy a daily groom with his favourite person. He also loves his food and will do just about anything for a tasty treat.
Hannah added: “We’d love to hear from anyone who thinks they can offer this lovely boy the deserving home he's been craving for.
“He has so much love and affection to give and is simply waiting for someone to see the wonderful character we have come to know.”
Felipe would prefer to be the only pet in the home and could live with cat-savvy older children who will understand and respect his boundaries.
He will also need access to be able to go outside once he’s settled in his new home.

Adoptober campaign
Every October the RSPCA’s Adoptober campaign aims to raise awareness of the amazing animals who are looking for homes in RSPCA centres and branches, many of whom have been rescued from heartbreaking cruelty and neglect.
Longview Animal Centre is run by the RSPCA’s Blackpool & North Lancashire Branch which is an independent, self-funding charity.
Its rehoming centre in Old Toms Lane cares for dogs, cats and a range of small animals who have been neglected, abandoned or cruelly treated.
At its busiest, the centre can have over 100 animals in its care.
