Investigation held into death of child rapist at Leyland prison
A pensioner who raped a child has died at Wymott Prison near Leyland.
In December 2022, Donald Glenn was sentenced to 17 years imprisonment for sexual offences, including two counts of rape of a child under the age of 13 in Bolton.
He died of heart disease on July 7, 2025 aged 78, and now an investigation into his death has been concluded by the Prisons and Probations Ombudsman (PPO).
It states that the clinical care Glenn received at Wymott was of a reasonable standard and equivalent to that which he could have expected to receive in the community. Investigators did not find any non-clinical issues of concern and make no recommendations.
