'Incredibly rewarding' - McDonalds staff help transform garden at Fulwood day centre
Staff from McDonald’s have taken part in a garden clean up in Preston.
Members of Withy Trees Day Activity Centre were Lovin’ It last week when crew members from McDonalds in Deepdale and Fulwood took part in a day of activity to revitalise gardens, along with Regenerage volunteers.
The team carried out a wide range of improvements, including weeding, trimming shrubbery, removing old planters and jet washing patio areas, pathways and the main entrance. Their collective efforts have helped to transform the outdoor space into a brighter, more welcoming environment for the centre’s visitors.
The initiative was organised by McDonald’s restaurant Business Managers Steve Henley and Brett Hudson, who worked closely with Claire Couperthwaite from Regenerage to coordinate the day. The charity supports people with memory concerns and dementia, helping to reduce loneliness and isolation, encouraging people to stay active, and providing a range of wider support designed to promote positive and healthy ageing.

Local McDonald’s Franchisee Nigel Dunnington who owns and operates the restaurants said: “Seeing our teams step up and give their time to support the local area and take part in the Spring Garden Cleanup has been incredibly rewarding. Their efforts to keep spaces a better and brighter place for the community are admirable.
“We’re equally proud of their commitment to supporting local charities, helping to make a meaningful contribution to those who need it most. Seeing our teams come together in this way shows the passion and pride they have in the communities they serve.”
