I went to Blackpool Tower Circus this half term - it was brilliant and here's some tips
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
Where? Blackpool Tower Circus of course.
I went as a girl, and then returned in 2022 with my then five-year-old so he could experience it for himself. To say I was blown away by the show there and then was an understatement.
So we returned last year for a birthday treat, and having missed the summer holidays this year, decided to make it three years in a row this latest school break.

It’s a snug, warm, circular auditorium, decked out in reds and golds, and in each corner are are what I’m sure are the legs of the tower. There’s unbelievable detail in the decorations above your head...but then your eyes will have quite enough to look at in the ring.
Mouths are truly left on the floor by the best in the business. This year, without giving too much away, I’d say the stars are a Cuban ball juggler and a lady contortionist, who left me watching between my fingers. Each act has both the wow factor, and an edge of your seat worry that this could all go horribly wrong at any second. Not that these guys are amateurish in any way - but they’re pushing boundaries so far that you wonder just how it’s all possible.
You’re also left how they learn to do this stuff.
The athleticism and artistry is very cleverly mixed in with slapstick comedy - provided brilliantly by brothers Mr Boo and Mooky, sons of Laci Endresz, who has been head honcho of the Tower Circus for more than 25 years.

We sat to the right as you walk in, slap bang in the middle and had a perfect view, as well as being close to the (quite small) toilets. Doors open an hour before the show starts, and I think you’d be fine getting there half an hour early.
If you sit closer, then you’re at risk of being dragged into part of the show, and Mooky has a horrible habit of walking about and chatting to the people who sit on the left....
When you book, you can pay for general admission or pay for a VIP ringside upgrade (which comes with a complimentary ice cream or popcorn and drink). For me and my son, the general admission cost £36.12 as opposed to £50.90 for the VIP ticket. Yes we paid for drinks seperately, but we didn’t spend £14.
A wonderful show, and we’ll be certain to make it four years in a row.
