'Greatest honour of our careers' - Ribble Valley Italian named Best Local Restaurant 2026

A Ribble Valley restaurant has scooped one of the industry’s top awards.
La Locanda in Gisburn, near Clitheroe, has been ranked No. 1 in the Good Food Guide’s 100 Best Local Restaurants 2026 and named Winner of the North West Region.
Judges said the restaurant had “standout quality” adding: “ The focus is on a Slow Food-style carte that marries Italian regional dishes. A truly authentic experience.”
Owners Maurizio & Cinzia Bocchi said: “This is the greatest honour of our careers. When we opened La Locanda, our dream was simply to bring authentic Italian cuisine and genuine Italian hospitality to our little corner of Lancashire. We never imagined that one day our restaurant would be recognised as the UK’s No. 1 local restaurant.
