Fylde coast in the spotlight as VisitEngland launches £1m holiday drive

Lytham and St Annes are in the national spotlight after Fylde MP Andrew Snowden brought VisitEngland’s chief executive to the coast to launch a £1 million campaign promoting holidays across England’s North West.

Lytham and St Annes have taken centre stage in a major new national tourism drive after Fylde MP Andrew Snowden welcomed VisitEngland’s chief executive Patricia Yates to the area.

The visit marked the launch of VisitEngland’s £1 million “All on England’s North West Coast” campaign, which aims to boost domestic tourism to seaside destinations across the region.

Fylde features prominently in the nationwide digital push, with film crews capturing promotional footage at Lytham Green and its iconic windmill, along Clifton Street, and at key attractions including Lytham Hall, Lowther Pavilion, Fairhaven Lake, St Annes Beach and St Annes Pier.

The campaign, which runs until the end of June is designed to encourage families and young people to book a break on the North West coast, driving visitor numbers and supporting local jobs.

Mr Snowden said he was “determined” to ensure Lytham and St Annes were front and centre of the campaign, highlighting the area’s coastline, independent businesses and vibrant high streets.

He added that with many local firms facing rising costs, backing tourism was vital to the Fylde economy.

VisitEngland will also work with Tripadvisor to amplify the campaign’s reach while offering support to destinations on accessibility and regenerative tourism.

VisitEngland Director Andrew Stokes said: “With warmer weather on the horizon now is the perfect time to consider booking a domestic break on England’s North West coast, boosting the economy and supporting jobs and local communities.

“Whether you are looking to connect with nature or revisit childhood memories, England’s North West coast has it all, with fantastic stories to tell and wonderful experiences and products for everyone to enjoy.

“From restorative retreats to dune walks and forest trails and from theme parks and fish and chips on the pier to quirky museums and hidden art, there truly is a magical break for everyone.”

The campaign runs from 16 February until the end of June and aims to boost visitor numbers, strengthen the local economy and support businesses across Fylde and the wider North West coast.
