Fallen climber airlifted to hospital
The Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team were called out after the casualty, a man in his twenties, suffered leg injuries while climbing in a disused quarry at Craig Y Longridge on Wednesday afternoon.
Rescuers called in the North West Air Ambulance and the man was flown to the Royal Preston Hospital where it is believed he was treated for a broken ankle.

Hide AdA spokesperson for the Air Ambulance said: “We got a call at 3.10pm saying a man had fallen at Craig Y Longridge, around 100 yards from the Beacon Fell Caravan Park.
“The mountain rescue team were with the casualty and after we managed to locate them we airlifted the man to hospital. His injuries are not thought to be serious.”
