His son has denied the charges.
A man who denies shooting and killing his dad on a farm in Lancashire has been granted bail with conditions.
75-year-old Thomas Olverson was pronounced dead at the farm as emergency services attended following a report of a gunfire discharge in a field off Pinfold Lane in the late afternoon of July 2024.

His son was arrested on suspicion of murder but later bailed pending further investigations.
Earlier this month his son Adam Olverson, 31, appeared before magistrates to face a charge of manslaughter over his death in Scarisbrick.
Making his first appearance today at Preston Crown Court where the fresh allegation of murder was put to him, Olverson entered not guilty pleas to both murder and manslaughter, and also denied possessing a double-barrelled, side-by-side 12-bore hammer shotgun without a certificate.
The Recorder of Preston, Judge Robert Altham, granted him bail ahead of a pre-trial review on February 22.
Among the defendant’s bail conditions are he must reside at his home address of Marsh Hey Farm in Pinfold Lane, abide by a night-time curfew and must surrender his passport.
A trial date for next April was fixed with an estimated length of up to three weeks.
