Preston woman accused of cruelty may face trial delay
The trial of a Preston woman accused of two counts administering a noxious substance to a young girl and baby boy may be delayed over concerns for her mental health.
The 26-year-old is accused of unlawfully and maliciously administering insulin to the girl on February 28 and April 9, 2016, at an address in Preston, and an alternative count of cruelty to a child.
She also faces a further allegation of unlawfully administering salt to the boy, and an alternative count of cruelty to a child.
Her trial is listed at Preston Crown Court in two weeks, but the court heard this may not be possible.
