Preston men admit offences after victim has items stolen

Two men have appeared in court in connection with the theft of a man’s bank card and other personal items.

Preston Magistrates’ Court heard the victim had his bank card, driving licence and travel card stolen in October.

Benjamin Metcalf, 29, of Christchurch Street, Preston, admitted fraud by false representation, by using his Santander bank card at B & D Newsagents.

Magistrates ordered him to have drug treatment, observe a curfew and rehabilitation requirement, and pay a £90 surcharge and £85 costs.

Co-defendant Stuart Brown, 34, also of Christchurch Street, admitted handling stolen goods, relating to the victim’s driving license and travel card.

He must pay an £80 fine, £32 surcharge and £85 costs.

Metcalf also admitted a theft from Boots in November.
