Azer Iqbal, 37, of Tulketh Road, Preston, admits dangerous driving, failing to provide a specimen, and assaulting an emergency worker.

Preston Crown Court heard on August 7 at 6.30am police saw him ‘swaying’ in a Honda Civic, and he appeared to be struggling to stay awake at the wheel on Aqueduct Street.

They illuminated their blue lights when he flouted a red light, but when they reached him he reversed at speed, causing the officer to jump away.
