Police are still hunting for a man after a stabbing in Preston on Christmas Day.

Armed police were deployed in the Plunginton area of Preston on Christmas Day, and roads were cordoned off while they hunted the attacker.

It has now been revealed that a 37-year-old man was stabbed in the incident, and the attacker is still at large.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “We were called at shortly before 9am on December 25 to reports that a 37-year-old man had been stabbed on Eldon Street, Preston.

“He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Preston Hospital in a serious but not life threatening condition.

“Officers, including armed officers, subsequently carried out a search of a property on Blackpool Road as part of enquiries to trace a suspect but they were not located.

“Enquiries to trace him are on-going.”
