Missing Preston man Daniel Binkowski found safe 60 miles away after 25 day police search

A 24-year-old man from Preston has been found safe after he was reported missing nearly a month ago.

Police have been searching for Daniel Binkowski since he disappeared from home in Ashton at around 8pm on Friday, July 1.

On July 13, Lancashire Police issued an appeal asking for the public’s help to find him, but fears for Daniel’s welfare grew as he remained missing.

Last week, police issued a second appeal with CCTV of his last known movements whilst officers in wet suits were seen wading through Lancaster Canal near the entry to Ashton Basin as they continued their search for Daniel.

But yesterday (Monday, July 25) – 25 days after he was reported missing – Daniel was found ‘safe and well’ in Chester, said police.

Posting on Facebook, a spokesman for the force said: “Some really good news everyone!

“We've recently been appealing to find Daniel, 24, who was missing from Preston.

“Thankfully he was found safe and well in Chester yesterday.”
