Man arrested after police seize drugs and cash from 'suspicious' BMW in Bilsborrow

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug offences after police pulled over a 'suspicious' BMW on the A6 in Bilsborrow.

Officers from Garstang were alerted to the BMW by a vigilant member of the public who reported the car in the early hours of this morning (May 27).

Police have not said why the driver of the vehicle was believed to be acting suspiciously, but officers responded and located the dark grey BMW on the A6 in Bilsborrow.

The driver was pulled over and a stop check was conducted, with officers finding a stash of drugs and cash in the car.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug offences, but has since been released pending further forensic enquiries.

Officers praised the vigilance of the public and said reports of suspicious vehicles are important in helping tackle drug crime.

A police spokesman said: "A search of the car resulted in an amount of drugs being found along with a substantial amount of cash.

"Please keep letting us know about suspicious vehicles or people as it is information from you that allows these type of stop checks to be so beneficial."
