A man armed with a large machete walking down a street in Preston has been captured on camera this morning.

The man, whose face has been obscured for legal reasons, was captured on camera by a member of the public.

It is thought to be related to an incident which occurred on Ashford Road and Birkdale Drive, Ashton at around 6am.

Two men were arrested following the incident.

They remained in custody for questioning this afternoon.

Officers said they believed the incident was isolated and and there was no threat to the wider public.
