A popular chip shop has become the latest victim in an ongoing burglary spree targeting businesses in Bamber Bridge.
Thieves smashed their way inside The Village Fish Bar in Poplar Avenue in the early hours of Monday morning (August 31).
Crime Scene Investigators were called to the scene and the owners, a local father and daughter team, have asked anyone with information to get in touch via the chippy’s Facebook page.
“We’re here cleaning everything up and will be back open tomorrow as normal,” they said, sharing pictures of the damage caused to the shop’s front entrance this morning.
Lancashire Police said cash and cans of Red Bull were stolen from the business. An investigation is underway and anyone with information is asked to contact 101, quoting log LC-20260831-0279.

The force said officers have been collating evidence, carrying out house to house enquiries, reviewing CCTV footage, and engaging with local businesses to identify and obtain any additional footage which may assist their investigations into the string of burglaries.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We know that these types of incidents can cause concern within the business community and we want to reassure you that enquiries are ongoing.
“To help protect your premises, ensure doors and windows are secure, review CCTV and alarm systems, remove valuables from display where possible, and make sure external areas are well lit.
“Please continue to report any suspicious activity to us by calling 101 or reporting online here.
