Arrest made after two men hospitalised with knife wounds following stabbing in Blackburn street

Two men were hospitalised after a stabbing in Blackburn, prompting an appeal for witnesses.

The attack occurred in Throstle Street near to the Go Outdoors store on Saturday evening (July 23).

Two men later presented themselves at Royal Blackburn Hospital with knife wounds, one of them suffering a serious injury to his abdomen.

One man was arrested following the incident and remained in custody for questioning.

A blue BMW and a silver saloon car were thought to be at the scene.

Police said enquiries into the attack were ongoing and they urged anyone who had any information to come forward.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “Were you in the area at the time and witnessed the incident?

“Have you got dashcam footage if you were driving nearby?"

“If you saw anything or have information or dashcam footage, please call 101, quoting log 1231 of July 23, 2022.”
