Construction work is underway at Hurst Brook Play Area in Coppull.
The improvement project will transform the space into a fresh, fun and welcoming play area for local children and families to enjoy.

Following public consultation, the new play area has been carefully designed with children aged 1 to 10 years in mind and will include accessible play equipment to ensure everyone can enjoy the space.

The project which is funded and managed by Chorley Council will include:
- A brand-new, durable, fenced play area focused on younger children.
- An exciting Four Towers climbing frame.
- A rustic Pocket Park.
- A nature-themed Activity Centre encouraging outdoor play and exploration.
- New wet pour safety surfacing, providing a cleaner, safer and all-year-round play experience.
- Improved landscaping and natural drainage.
- A larger litter bin and a new bench outside the play area, as requested by local residents.
The new wet pour surfacing will create a smooth, seamless surface throughout the play area, making it more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
Signage will be displayed on site to keep residents updated as the project progresses and it is hoped to open sometime this summer.
