Bamber Bridge-based Eric Wright Group announces £298.5million turnover & increased profits

The company has been behind many well-known projects in the past year.

Lancashire’s Eric Wright Group has announced its 2025 financial results, reporting profit before tax of £16.9million, compared with £13.6million in 2024.

Turnover has also increased to £298.5million, up from £291.8million the previous year, supported by a strong pipeline of projects across the Group’s contracting businesses.

The Bamber Bridge-based Group - behind Preston’s new Tram Bridge and the redevelopment of Amounderness House - says then performance reflects continued improvement in its overall business activities, driven by strategic initiatives, operational efficiencies and market responsiveness.

Gross profit increased to £27.3million, representing a margin of 9.2 per cent compared with £24.4million and 8.4 per cent in 2024, supported by the blend of activities across the Group and continued progress within its contracting businesses including construction, water and civil engineering.

The diversity of the Group’s operations remains a fundamental strength, providing a stable platform for sustainable returns even in more challenging market conditions. In particular, the Group has reduced its reliance on investment-related returns, with its trading businesses continuing to deliver robust underlying performance.

During the year, the Group successfully refinanced its Revolving Credit Facility, securing committed funding for a minimum term of three years, with extension options available.

The Group’s investment property portfolio delivered a revaluation gain of £3.1million, and it’s also been a significant year for Wrightcare, the Group's eighth operational business unit, with the opening Castlewood in Clitheroe, the Group’s first residential and dementia care home.

Beyond financial performance, the Group remains committed to creating wider value for clients, communities and colleagues and continues to make significant progress in evolving and delivering its comprehensive social value strategy. In 2025, this included 25,928 hours of training and development, 2,972 apprenticeship weeks worked, 691 work experience days, 927 hours supporting community projects, £87million spent with local companies, and 49,393 student engagements.

Speaking about the 2025 performance, Jeremy Hartley, Eric Wright Group Chief Executive Officer, said: “Eric Wright Group has delivered another strong year, with improved profitability, increased turnover and continued progress across our core trading businesses. These results demonstrate the strength of our diversified model and the effectiveness of our long-term strategy.

“While market conditions remain complex, the Group has continued to focus on operational excellence, effective risk management, disciplined cash management and positive client relationships. These foundations give us confidence in our ability to deliver sustainable performance and continued growth in the years ahead.

“The Group’s partnership with the Eric Wright Charitable Trust also remains central to its purpose, with the business continuing to support the Trust’s charitable giving with a 2025 donation of £3.95million. The Group recognises the importance of maintaining a stable underlying trading platform to provide consistent returns to the Trust, enabling it to continue its work including supporting numerous charities and the Waterpark Lakeland Adventure Centre.”
