New care home opens in Clitheroe - with its own cafe, bar and wellness centre

A new care home has opened in Clitheroe - with its own cafe and bar.

Castlewood by Wrightcare, is a state-of-the-art residential care home located on Higher Standen Drive. Bosses say it’s unique layout divides its 68 en-suite rooms into “intimate neighbourhoods designed for privacy while fostering community living”.

Shared spaces include a library, wellness centre, activity rooms, landscaped gardens, and a café and bar that remain open all hours to encourage interaction. The home also provides tailored care services, from residential care to dementia support, ensuring residents receive personalised attention.

The official ribbon-cutting ceremony took place during a community open day, attended by local residents, families, and notable community leaders. Deputy Mayor of Clitheroe Town Council, Councillor Mary Robinson, joined the event and formally opened the facility.
