Avacab in Leyland warns customers to ‘stay safe’ after frightened passengers picked up in DIFFERENT car
The taxi firm posted the safety notice on their socials.
A taxi firm in Leyland has urged anyone using their cars to ‘stay safe’ after customers claim they are being picked up by a different vehicle.

Avacab, located at Bison Place, who provide taxi hire in Leyland and minbus hire in Buckshaw Village, Lancashire, Lostock Hall and Preston, posted on their socials after receiving several reports from customers who booked a taxi with Avacab but were picked up by a different vehicle that arrived slightly earlier than expected.

A spokesperson for the business said: “We have received several reports from customers who booked a taxi with Avacab but were picked up by a different vehicle that arrived slightly earlier than expected (reports indicate these were UBER cars).
“In each case, the customer only realised something was wrong after being driven in the wrong direction and questioned the driver.
“In one incident, a customer was shouted at by the driver and made to get out of the car miles away from their destination.
“In another case, an elderly gentleman had to argue with the driver to return him home after being driven 3 miles away from his house.”
They added: “These incidents are extremely concerning.
“We have reported this matter to the authorities and it is being investigated by them and also internally.”
Uber and Lancashire Police have both been approached for comment.
