Police probe rubbish fire damage

Police have launched an investigation after a rubbish fire spiralled out of control.

Fleetwood fire service were called to a fire in the back yard at a terraced house on Gordon Road at 3.30pm today.

When they attended they found an outhouse engulfed in flames.

The fire service believe a young man had started burning rubbish in the outhouse and now Lancashire police are investigating due to the damage inflicted to the outdoor building and the adjoining outhouse next door.

A spokesman for Fleetwood fire service said: “We attended a fire in a brick built out house.

“We believe a young lad was burning rubbish inside the outhouse.

“The fire got out of control, it spread to the roof timber and spread to the other adjoining outhouse.

“The police are involved because of the damage to the properties.”
