Youngsters from a Preston school were turned away from a theatre after the collapse of a top Manchester musical production. A coachload of children from Fulwood High School arrived for the Charles Dickens play David Copperfield just minutes before the curtain was due to go up to discover the show had been axed. Old folks went back to school for a day for a special Christmas party thrown in their honour.
