We’ve gone back to the archives to find you images of more Preston pubs that are no longer trading. Preston’s once claim to fame of a pub for every day of the week has been decimated by the closure of many of our favourite hostelries. 23. The Queen Vic
Situated on Moor Lane, the Queen Vic was an imposing and unusual shaped public house. Before being crowned as the Queen Vic it was known as the North Euston. The pub closed in 2010 and remained empty for a few years. But the memory remains as in 2014 it was turned into a fish and chip shop called - The Queen Vic Photo: Kevin McGuinness
24. The Neptune
Once a home from home for the many workers at the nearby British Aerospace factory, Boddingtons pub The Neptune, on Strand Road, saw trade decline considerably when it was announced that plant next door would be demolished. During a 17-week stoppage by Aerospace workers, the pub was used as an unofficial strike headquarters. It eventually closed in 1992 and the building, now called Neptune House, is an office block Photo: Kevin McGuinness
