We’ve gone back to the archives to find you images of more Preston pubs that are no longer trading. Preston’s once claim to fame of a pub for every day of the week has been decimated by the closure of many of our favourite hostelries. Our first look back brought back plenty of memories for many of you and we hope that this instalment does the same. READ MORE: Long lost Preston pubs. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Popular Preston pubs. 1. Jolly Farmer
This fantastic image shows the back of the façade of the former Farmers Arms/Jolly Farmer during the reconstruction. The inside of the building was completely gutted. The exterior shell of the building fronting Orchard and Market Streets was preserved and survives today. Image courtesy of the Preston Historical Society Photo: Beth Hayes
2. The Rosebud
The Rosebud on the corner of New Hall Lane and London Road was something of a Preston landmark, having stood watch over this junction since around 1841. In early 1988 the pub was bought by the council and so served its last pint around this time. It was knocked down in 1989 to make way for a road widening scheme. Until the late 1950s an 'Iron Duke' was found outside it - 'Iron Duke' was the nickname given to the large iron urinals dotted around the town Photo: Archive

4. The Fountain
The Fountain was situated at the junction of Fylde Road, Water Lane and Tulketh Brow. The Whitbread brewery pub was demolished in the 1970s to make way for road widening. We see it here from Tulketh Brow as it was being demolished Photo: Preston Digital Archive
