Barman Damian Murray has made the ultimate sacrifice to help fund-raise for a sick child shaving off his beautifully tended green mohican hairstyle.

He joined other bar staff at The Grey Friars pub in Friargate, Preston in the sponsored head shave in aid of the severely ill four-year-old, who spent the first half of his life in hospital.

William spent much of his early life in hospital after suffering a bleed on the brain when eh was just 18 hours old
William was eventually allowed home, but he has severe disabilities and his parents Becky Hill and Neil Ballantyne now need to raise 40,000 to adapt their Lostock Hall bungalow to his needs

The family have managed to secure a government-based Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) grant through Lancashire County Council, but they need to make up a shortfall of 39,000 by April, otherwise they will have to apply again.

The manager of the Grey Friars pub in Friargate, Preston, Bradley Hollingsworth, read about Williams plight in the Post and decided to act.
The pub ran a raffle and a sponsored dry January by staff member William Whittle also raised funds before the sponsored head shave on Wednesday night. Bradley said: It is great to be able to do something for someone who lives locally."
