Students enjoy a rocking good time

The Preston school was the first in the area, and among the first in the country, to be given permission to put on a stage version of the popular West End musical School of Rock.

Entitled School of Rock the Musical, more than 120 pupils from Year Seven up to Year 10 were involved in the week-long project.

Under the watchful eyes of staff from the St Anthony’s Drive school, including the music and drama departments, the young people took charge of everything from front of house, to make-up, music and lighting.

Sell-out shows saw Nat Ingham playing Dewey Finn and Eleanor Jolliffe as Rosalie Mullins.

Other lead parts included Fintan McGuire- playing Ned Schneebly and Hattie Halford Smith as Patty.

Drama teacher Rebecca Gregson said pupils had worked extremely hard to make sure the show was a hit, and it was.
