Eden Boys’ School, Preston pupils foster spirit of giving to spread kindness and compassion

Pupils and staff at Eden Boys’ School, Preston have been spreading joy throughout the local community by offering help to those most in need.
Through the school’s Winter Gift Programme, pupils and their families have generously donated items of food and household products to the Noor Food Bank in Preston to ensure that those who may be facing financial hardship at this time of year aren’t forced to go without essential supplies.
Over the course of recent weeks, pupils, staff and other members of the school community have shown remarkable generosity by donating enough food to fill 15 hampers, ensuring that vital support and reassurance can be provided to those in need.
Donations also included toys, games and sweet treats, which have been thoughtfully packed into a further 20 festive gift hampers that pupils and staff kindly shared with young patients and their families in the Children’s Ward at Royal Preston Hospital in the hope of bringing smiles to those who are experiencing challenging circumstances this winter.
Through this kind-hearted initiative, pupils not only supplied essential items and cherished gifts but saw firsthand how their combined efforts translated into making a meaningful difference in their community.
Nafisa Patel, Principal at Eden Boys’ School, Preston, said:
“I am incredibly proud of the generosity and compassion shown by our pupils and their families as part of the Winter Gift Programme. At a time of year when finances can be stretched thin for many, they have shown remarkable kindness and empathy by gathering donations to support those who may be struggling or facing difficult circumstances.”
The Winter Gift Programme is an annual campaign which sees pupils and staff from every Star Academies school unite to participate in a broad range of charitable giving, acts of kindness and volunteering; all with one simple aim – to make sure no one faces the challenges of winter alone.
