Preston fitness equipment suppliers celebrates work on six figure gym contract

A Preston-based fitness solution provide has marked the official opening of the new six-figure state-of-the-art gym at a North West leisure centre.

Roman Way industrial estate-based fitness solution provider, Gym Gear, designed and installed the new gym at Kirkby Leisure centre, for Volair Ltd, a Not-for-Profit Community Interest Company CIC.

The gym’s members can now make use of a top-of-the-range gym, set over two floors, offering a full range of cardiovascular and resistance equipment, a function area with a sled track, a free weight area, and a new cutting edge Elevate machine.

David Bulcock, director at Gym Gear, which was founded in 2005, said: “We have been delighted to work with Volair on this exciting new project. It is a testament to the hard work of our team that we have delivered a successful, 5200 square ft floor-to-ceiling gym refurbishment in just four days.

Kevin Schofield, managing director at Volair, said: “We are delighted to unveil our new gym in the heart of Kirkby. As a not-for-profit organisation, everything we do is for the benefit of the wider community of Knowsley, and we are thrilled that this gym really does have something for everyone.

“We are seeing considerable growth in the area, with the regeneration of Kirkby town centre and as the new Volair gym is located in the heart of the town, we felt, as a business, that now is the right time to regenerate the gym and provide a special experience for all of our members.”

With the six-figure investment in the gym, Kirkby residents can enjoy the positive impact that physical activity is proven to have on the overall health and wellbeing of communities, and Gym Gear said with the cutting edge equipment, the Volair Kirkby gym would be a rival to health clubs and private gyms in the area.

This year, Gym Gear announced it was to increase its warehouse storage capacity in Preston by 5,000sq ft and increase its team to meet growing demand.
