Preston events firm wins national honour

A Preston based events, digital and video agency has picked up a top national honour.

Glasgows won the Communications Effectiveness Gold Award at the EVCOM Screens Awards 2016 for a video produced for the Police Federation, entitled ‘You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone’.

Glasgows worked with London based Video production company Voytek to produce the video which went viral upon release last year amassing 60,000 hits in 24 hours, with the figure now standing upwards of 85,000.

It was produced to demonstrate how police officers are an integral part of all communities; whose role is far more than just fighting crime.

The aim was to stress the valuable day-to-day work police officers carry out which may not always be obvious, but has a big impact on people’s daily lives. The video also highlighted the danger that the reassuring presence of a police officer out on routine patrol will gradually disappear. It was launched at the Police Federation’s Annual Conference and presented to the Home Secretary during the keynote session of Conference.

Feedback from the judges noted it was a “clear, well executed idea driving extremely impressive results including saving the Federation £1.5m in potential cuts”.

Glasgows’ Joint Managing Director Paul Leekssaid: “We are absolutely delighted and honoured to receive this prestigious recognition from EVCOM in our 30th year.

“The video highlights key issues in the Police Federation ‘Cuts have Consequences’ campaign and its success is a testimony to the fantastic team who worked together to produce it.”

Glasgows moved to Waterloo Road Ashton from its previous offices at the Dock in 2914.
