A popular dog daycare centre has announced it will close its doors next month.

Just Pawing Around said it will close its site in Stockclough Lane, Blackburn after Friday, February 13.

The business, which opened in 2020, said the closure was due to “a number of circumstances surrounding the daycare, including issues with the land owner”, adding they were given one month’s notice to vacate the site.

Posting on Instagram, the company said: “With incredibly heavy hearts, we share that due to circumstances beyond our control, including issues with the land owner, JPA Doggy Daycare will be closing, with our final day being Friday, February 13.

“We opened our doors in 2020, right in the middle of COVID, and since then we’ve grown into a community filled with love, laughter, and the most amazing dogs. Every dog has left a paw print on our hearts, and saying goodbye is truly heartbreaking.

“We know how important daycare is for many of your dogs, and our team will do everything we can to help guide you toward other local options during this transition.

“Please know this decision is completely out of our hands. If we could continue, we absolutely would. This final month will still be full of love, fun, and cuddles as we cherish every moment together.

“Thank you for trusting us with your dogs — we will miss you all more than words can say.”

They added: “We kindly ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate this incredibly emotional time. Although this chapter is coming to an end, we promise that this final month will still be filled with love, care, cuddles, and as much fun as ever.”
