Peeping behind the doors of Maxwell Manor, Chorley's thriving sex club near Morrisons
This year saw a new adult social club swing open its doors near Morrisons in Chorley - join us as we revisit Maxwell Manor as it prepares to kick off the new year with a ‘banging party’.
It’s been six months since the former Potters Arms in Brooke Street was given a new lease of life as Maxwell Manor - a private ‘members only’ social club which “celebrates uniqueness and alternative lifestyles”.

The pub closed in September 2024 when landlords Denise and Stephen Potter bid farewell after 35 years, making them the longest-serving pub owners in Chorley.
In 2025, the boozer was refurbished and converted into an adult photography studio and social club. Owners Liana Rainford, 37, and Patrick Wolff, 44, have stayed tight-lipped when approached by the media - but a sneak peek of what waits behind its doors can be found on its Instagram page.
And according to its website, business is booming. Many of 2025’s special events have sold out, including ‘Obsidian’ - its Christmas ‘kink and fetish’ event on December 13, featuring ‘femdon, male dom, bottoms and bunnies’.
Other popular social events included September’s ‘Whips & Tricks’, October’s ‘Rave & Misbehave’ (couples social aged between 30 and 60), November’s ‘Ladies in Lust’ (women only) and last month’s ‘Curious’ (an all male event).
And Maxwell Manor plans to kick off 2025 in style with ‘Rubber Revelation’. The doors will swing open on January 17 for a “heavy rubber, fetish, BDSM play party” - featuring ‘special performances’ to the banging beats of live techno house music.
And in February, couples are invited to attend its ‘Valentines Ball’, with champagne reception and starring cabaret performer Emily Winters, who is known for her ‘hair-hanging act’ and other ‘extreme art skills’.
Annual Membership costs £20 for single females, £25 for single males and £35 for couples, plus an additional £30 to attend its ‘kink/fetish events‘.
The website says: “Drink, dance, socialise with like minded people, it’s so hard to find a social club that caters for anything other than ordinary.
“Asexual, trans, queer, gay, pan, straight, kinky, curious, FemDom - our doors are open to all. We will ensure at our events you are safe, respected and protected.”
