Popular Leyland fish & chip shop sold to local family who run town's Chinese takeaway
A popular Leyland chippy has been sold to the owners of a local Chinese takeaway.
Lisa Xu of Leyland’s Chop Suey House in Hough Lane has announced that she and her family will be taking over Farington Fish’n’Chips in Stanifield Lane.

Former owners Adrian and Andreea said it was with “a very heavy heart” that they made the decision to sell the chippy after 13 years.
They said their staff will be kept on and they will be supporting Lisa and her family with the transition.

‘Hard work, tears, sleepless nights, joy and love’
Confirming the sale, Andreea said: “With a very heavy heart, we would like to announce that we have sold Farington Chippy.
“The last 13 years have been filled with hard work, tears, sleepless nights, joy, love, and excitement as we looked towards the future.
“Adrian, the team, and I have done everything we possibly could to build a successful business focused on producing quality food, always served with a smile. We haven’t been perfect, but we have truly given it our all.
“Unfortunately, life sometimes has other plans and reminds you that family and health must come first. A few months ago, Adrian and I had to sit down and make a very difficult decision. While it wasn’t easy, we are now looking ahead with hope and faith in what the future may bring.

“We are forever grateful to every single customer who has supported us over the years — and to those customers who have become dear friends. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
“At the chippy, nothing changes. All of our staff are staying, and the new owners are very keen to continue the good work.”
She added: “You will probably still see me there (especially this Friday, March 6) as we support them during the transition. Some things may be a little different, but they are committed to maintaining the strong reputation we have built together.
“I will miss each and every one of you and will always be thankful for the past 13 years. Now it’s time for a little rest and to focus on my health and my young family.”

“We’re incredibly proud to continue their legacy”
Introducing herself on Facebook, new owner Lisa said: “We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we are the new owners of Farington Fish’n’Chips!
“We’re incredibly proud to be continuing the legacy of such a much-loved local shop and we can’t wait to meet you all very soon. Your support will truly mean the world to us as we begin this new journey.
“As we are still in the process of the transfer, we would like to let everyone know that for the first few weeks we will be accepting cash only. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding while we get everything set up.
“Thank you for your continued support — we’re excited to serve you!”
