MB Chicken permanently shuts Preston store just 6 months after opening in Miller Arcade
MB Chicken has permanently shut its Preston store just six months after opening in the city centre.
The Canadian chain has axed its branch in the Miller Arcade, leaving 15 staff seeking new jobs weeks before Christmas.
The shutters are down and the branch has been removed from the MB Chicken website’s list of restaurants. It’s Facebook and Google pages have also been switched to ‘permanently closed’.

The opening of MB Chicken opened to much fan-fare on May 1, with Preston foodies eagerly queueing for a taste of Canada’s favourite fried chicken, including its popular Big Mary sandwich, crispy tenders, signature bone-in chicken at its new 50-seat Miller Arcade branch in Church Street.

The new store was co-owned by business partners Pritpal Dhillon and Sohail Munwar, who were said to bring a mix of retail, IT and franchise development experience to the franchise venture.

Ahead of its launch in Preston, Sohail told the Post: “We’re proud to be creating new job opportunities in the area and bringing something fresh to Preston’s food scene.
“MB Chicken offers a real alternative for anyone who loves great-tasting chicken, and we’re looking forward to welcoming the local community through our doors.”
A special launch event was hosted to mark the occasion, with an open bar, Canadian cocktails and a live DJ to celebrate its grand opening at the city’s prestigious Miller Arcade.
