Man hurt and motorway partially closed after 'serious' early morning crash
A man was injured after his car crashed into a barrier on the M6.
Fire crews from Lancaster, Preston and Fulwood were called to the northbound carriageway of the motorway between junction 32, Broughton, and 33, Lancaster South, just after 3am today.
A car had crashed and was blocking the third lane. Lancashire road police described the incident as 'serious'.
The male driver was taken to hospital. A police helicopter was called to search the area for any other casualties.
All lanes travelling northbound were closed while emergency services attended, a spokesman for Lancaster fire station said.
A Lancashire police spokesman said at the time that the closure was 'likely to be in place for a few hours'.
