Yesterday (November 3), the Post revealed that the DIY retailer will be closing its store in Mariners Way at the end of the year, with Homebase confirming December 31 as its last day of trading in Preston.

But staff had suggested that the store might close sooner, putting their jobs at risk just days before Christmas.
