A temporary Post Office for Chorley has opened to restore Post Office services to the town.

The operator of the shop at 6-8 New Market Street, Chorley, where Chorley Post Office had been based, made the difficult decision to close the shop in January.

The Postmaster for Burscough Bridge, Craig Greenhalg, is providing a temporary solution at Unit 13 Market Walk Shopping Centre, New Market Street, Chorley, PR7 1DE.

This temporary branch is inside a former hairdresser. The opening hours are Monday to Friday: 10am – 4pm.

Craig Greenhalg has also added some retail to the shop of cards, stationery, confectionery and wool.

Karen Bragg, Post Office Network Provision Lead, said: “We are delighted to have restored Post Office service to Chorley with a temporary solution as we know how important Post Office services are to the community. We thank the Postmaster for Burscough Bridge for providing this service. We continue to work towards a permanent solution for Chorley.”
