Exclusive first pictures from inside the new Tesco store in Penwortham

It is the first supermarket Tesco has opened in six years and has “the best of everything”, according to store manager Julian Blissett.

Store manager Julian Blissett will run the store with the help of 80 staff, the majority of whom live in Penwortham.

The petrol station will be open 6am-11pm every day and will be Pay at the Pump only.

The store will be open from 7am to 11pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

There are eight electric car charging spaces and new landscaping on the Cop Lane boundary.

Motor access to the shop will be off Liverpool Road, with pedestrian access also available via a new linkway to Alcester Avenue and off Cop Lane.
