I am a journalism student at Nottingham Trent University and loving living in the city. I am enjoying
my course because I get the opportunity to write and be creative. Since coming to University, I’ve
become more interested in politics, writing people led stories such as interviewing nurses who were
striking and asking people in Nottingham about the effects of cost-of-living crisis. I am from Preston
and even though I miss home sometimes, living in the Nottingham as a student has made me
confident and embrace every opportunity and my independence. I’m also involved with the NTU
award-winning student magazine Platform, writing and editing a variety of news content online,
across social media and in print. I’m proficient in news production with experience in both magazine
and newspapers. My hobbies include ice skating and recently taken up reading and enjoying
dystopian and feminist fiction. Reading has helped me keep of my own and made me look at
something other than tik tok. Since being at university I’ve been trying new recipes and putting allot
of thought into what I eat and finding new small ways to make me feel better. For example, this
week I have put lemons in my water and already seen a difference in my skin. I also love finding
gems on Vinted and selling the odd thing to make that extra penny. My favourite animal is an Axolotl
a cute pink, alien-like amphibian. In the future I hope to move to London and be a professional
online journalist writing politic based news.
