With their own blend of soul and jazz infused with funk, Tripitaka have a huge North West fan base, and saxophonist Aaron Siggs, boasts they are the “best band in Preston”.

The gig on Friday, June 6, will see Aaron perform alongside Chris Jones on trombone, Shaun Fortune on bass, guitarist Mik Billington and trumpeter Phil Rutter.

The band’s unique sound is supported by drummer Jonathan Mitchell and keyboardist Ian Cross. New singer Jade Bianca Williams completes the band with the lead vocalist role. The singer has been described on The Continental website as “one of the best new vocal talents” the venue has seen.

Tripitaka’s style of music is one of a kind and founder member, Aaron, boldly declares: “No band in the North West has a brass section like us. Well, definitely not in Lancashire”.

Being the third time the band will grace the stage, the talented saxophonist was still excited for the gig day to arrive.

He said: “It’s a great venue to play, with a good stage. The crowd has easy access to the two bars, so it is guaranteed to be a good night.”

Robin, who works at the bar and restaurant, expressed how he was looking forward to the band’s gig. He said: “They’re a great band. A solid funk act who always bring a good crowd. They’ve got a big following, so it will be a definite sell-out.”

Tripitaka will play at The Continental on Friday, June 6, at 8pm. Tickets £5.
