Weller’s band play city pub

Returning from a jam-packed gig at 
Exotique Festival in Pisa on August 17, Trio Valore look set to blow the doors open in Preston’s thriving music venue.

But what is most surprising is that the duo are used to playing in arena-sized venues.

They are The Style Council’s veteran drummer Steve White and former Southport-raised Ocean Colour Scene bassist Damon Minchella.

They are supported by 
keyboard ace Justin Shearn who has replaced Seamus 
Beaghan. Steve and Damon both met through working with fellow musician Paul Weller, forming a new group for the dance floor in the mid 2000s.

The two were asked to reform in 2013 for the 10th anniversary of Italian label Record Kicks and began touring in Naples with the Manchester based star, Justin Shearn.

Returning to the UK with a first time gig in Preston, the trio mix deep funk, jazz and soul as shown on their debut album in 2008 with Return Of The Iron Monkey.

Paying tribute to to the sound of Hammond and inspired by the Meters and the MGs, Trio Valore mix personal songs with hip covers of Amy Winehouse’s Rehab, Jimmy Hendrix’s Fire and The Rolling Stones Paint It Black.

Tickets are £10 per person and £12.50 on the door.

The doors open at 7.30pm with the main event starting at 8pm.
