The town’s Youth Theatre players will be hitting the stage at Chorley Little Theatre for the opening night of their new musical production of Back To the 80s, which revists the era of Rubik’s Cubes, leg warmers and ra-ra skirts. The family friendly show, originally written by Neil Gooding, focuses on the adventures of the graduating class of the William Ocean High School through the eyes of narrator Corey Feldman who looks back from the Year 2001 on his school days.

We follow the class as they face the fun, the fears, the laughs, loves and heartbreak of their final year at school.

And, with high energy dance routines set to all the greatest tunes of the era – from Madonna to Cyndi Lauper to Michael Jackson and Kim Wilde, it’s a fabulous trip down Memory Lane, even if the performers weren’t old enough to remember it first time round.

There’s the obligatory 1980s party scene, plenty of blue eyeshadow and hairspray and even more memories in a musical that will delight audiences of any age.

The production opens tomorrow night and runs until Saturday, July 20 with performances at 7.30pm each night and a 2.30pm matinee on Saturday before the final evening show,

Tickets are still available, priced at £8 for adults or £5 for children with family tickets for two adults and two children at £21, and are on sale from Malcolm’s Musicland on 01257 01257 264362.
