Illyria will present Oliver Gray’s production of Macbeth this Tuesday at 7.30 pm.

Advance ticket sales are running at a high level and Illyria’s company manager Theresa Brockway, who plays Lady Macbeth, says this interest mirrors the large attendances they have enjoyed at all the venues they have visited so far on their 40-date summer tour. “Our tour began in mid June and wherever we have travelled – from Aberdeeen to Cornwall and Brighton to Nottingham so far – we have played to sizeable and knowledgeable audiences.

“We have just five actors playing all the roles in Macbeth which is demanding, but very much in the tradition of touring groups of players performing
Shakespeare.

“This is the fourth time I have visited Lytham Hall with Illyria and for me the venue is always a highlight of the tour.”

Julian Wilde, organiser of the Lytham Hall, added: “I am expecting this to be a special evening.

“Illyria have the happy knack of making Shakespeare very accessible to all without compromising his language and I am sure that the audience will be very well entertained.”
