With a month to go before opening play, Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility, on Friday, June 13, advance ticket sales are well up on last year Waterstones Bookshops in Preston and Blackpool, together with Stringers Department Store in the heart of Lytham, have all recently been added to the list of ticket outlets, bringing the total to 14. All are reporting plenty of interest.

Julian Wilde, organiser of the season, is delighted with the addition of the new outlets.

“I think it’s important to give people the opportunity to buy tickets online directly from the companies and also to provide plenty of convenient local ticket points.

“Sales are going extremely well and I think we are in for a successful season once again.”

Katy Helps takes the leading role of Elinor Dashwood in the opening production.

Katy, above, said: “The audience, always appreciative at Lytham, will be surprised at the amount of humour in the play. It’s a skilful adaptation of Austen’s novel by Laura Turner, who has established a national reputation.”
