A teenage suicide pact, with daggers and poison – that’s got your attention

Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet is the Bard’s most popular play, including universal themes identifiable with young and old.

Shakespeare is also a huge part of our education system and English literature heritage.

Now the Say Two production of the heartbreaking tale is heading to Lancashire this weekend, having been to Verona in Italy.

Chosen as the number one classical production company Say Two was featured by the BBC, and filmed for a short docudrama covering the casting process, rehearsals and performing for Italian audiences throughout Sicily and Italy.

Company spokesman Lee Appleby said: “This traditional production, true to Shakespeare’s text, is perfect for family audiences of all ages, with plenty of exhilarating sword fights, festive fast comedy, tragedy and dazzling dance numbers along the way.

It’s Shakespeare’s most magical poetic verse and prose.” 
 


Bank Hall, Bretherton will be the ideal setting and backdrop for the tragic tale of the two star crossed lovers on Saturday, July 12.

Audiences are invited to take part in a short informal director’s talk (ideal for study), have a go at trying on the traditional costumes and swashbuckling sword fights, and have a stab at quoting the text.
