The meteoric rise of indie heroes Little Comets

The indie rock trio are staging a 14 plus show in the Brook Street venue’s intimate club room upstairs.

Shows in the licenced venue are usually limited to over 16s or even over 18s. But, for one night only, younger fans will be allowed in – but must bring ID as proof of age.

Last year was a big year for the band. Following the release of the their eagerly awaited second album, Life is Elsewhere, they celebrated with their biggest UK tour so far in October.

The album’s first single, A Little Opus, got airplay on Radio One, BBC6 Music – where it won Steve Lamacq’s Rebel Playlist vote – and XFM, where the band recorded a live session for Mary Anne Hobbs. They also enjoyed a summer of festival appearances and encounters with the Olympic Flame, including joining in the Hyde Park finale.

Now singer Robert Coles, guitarist Michael Coles, and bassist Matt Hall, will come to Preston, along with session drummer, Greenie, who replaces original drummer Mark 
Harle who departed in 2011.

A band spokesman said: “This time we’ve decided to take the underage/overage bull by the horns.”

Support comes from Bwani Junction and Preston band Cry Baby Aeroplanes open the show. Doors open at 7.30pm and the show ends at 11pm.
