Classical singing star Russell Watson returns to Preston this weekend to drum up even more support for the Katy Holmes Trust.

The star, who has suffered two brain tumours himself, is to top the bill in a sparkling concert to raise money for the charity started up to commemorate the 10-year-old Preston schoolgirl.

Katy passed away in January after suffering an inoperable brain tumour – the biggest cancer killer of children in this country.

The Concert for Katy, at the city’s Guild Hall, will raise money for the fund established by Katy’s parents to help other victims of the disease.

Russell is a patron of the charity and also performed a moving rendition of Someone To Remember Me at Deepdale Stadium last Saturday which he dedicated to Katy’s memory.

Tickets still remain for the Guild Hall concert, priced at £60, £42.50 or £25 from the box office on 0844 844 7714.
